I've been asking my couple's to tell me their story, so here is Cam and Elizabeth, in their own words:"We met in junior high and quickly became best friends. We spent countless hours together struggling to get through teenage angst. Cam ended up going to a different high school and life pulled us in different directions. It took six years for Facebook to manifest and for us to find each other, although at that time Cam was living in Kelowna and Elizabeth was in Victoria. In 2008, eight years after having last seen each other, Cam had moved back to Calgary and was stalking Elizabeth’s facebook page when he realized she would be in Calgary for a week. He called her and wouldn’t take her excuses about not having time to get together. Our friendship picked up as if no time had gone on and within days had moved to much more! We struggled with a long distance relationship for over two years, until Cam moved to Victoria and then eventually we both moved back to Calgary. Shortly after our move to Calgary, Cam was diagnosed with cancer and we entered yet another of life’s tests. As much as it is his journey, it is also ours. Elizabeth came to understand the importance of her vows “in sickness and health” much sooner and in a more intimate way than many. Life has not been easy to us, but the love we feel for each other and the level to which we understand one another has proven to be essential to get through it all. We are still best friends who constantly are goofing around and laughing, for life is a beautiful thing and we intend to savor every minute we have together!"
