Sean is a Boston fan. It’s a long story why — but he loves his wife so much that when I came over to take photos, he turned off the game and helped me rearrange their living room. I stood on chairs. I wrapped curtains over couches and I draped the beautiful Marianne in white muslin and lace.
I couldn’t help but be envious of Sean and Marianne’s beautiful home — yellow and blue walls with springtime sun casting a warm hue on my photographs, these two are lucky they found such a beautiful house in Victoria, but more than that, they are lucky they found each other. I realized after being there for a while it wasn’t their home at all –but the space they shared, the space they created between themselves, with each other, that was so special.
It’s such a privilege for me to spend time with couples at the most important times of their lives — weddings, pregnancy, birth. It feels like there is something magic and electric in the air at these times in life — something potent and unexplainable with words. It’s a quiet magic, shared between two (soon to be three), but I witnessed it, and here, I try to portray it through my lens — for you to witness also.
