Michaela & Jose Published in Wedding Bells!

It's always a pleasure to have a wedding published, but Michaela & Jose showing up on Wedding Bells was particularly wonderful.Michaela and Jose are 1. very interesting people, 2. Good at creating a very unique wedding, and 3. excellent venue pickers. Their morning ceremony, which incorporated their pooches, was held at my  favorite venue, Craidelonna, in Sooke.Click here to view the feature in Wedding Bells. And here is a taste of Michaela & Jose in their own words:When Michaela and Jose met, they initially butted heads. “I was an ER nurse and he was an ER tech”, says Michaela. “But after spending some time together, we realized how much we actually liked each other!”Their Mexican-inspired wedding (an ode to the groom’s birthplace, Mexico) featured yellow and purple accents as well as a gorgeous seaside venue. “Our wedding was intimate, personal and full of love”, Michaela recalls. “We were surrounded by our closest friends and family in the most picturesque setting we could have imagined. We filled the ceremony and reception with personal touches – we said our vows while standing in a circle of lavender from my mom’s garden and readings were shared aloud by our family. We didn’t have a first dance or grand entrance but we did have effigy piñatas made by my sister and aunt, filled with Mexican and Canadian candy.”One of Michaela’s favorite moments involved her beloved pug, Penny. “I had my dogs walk down the aisle beside me. Our little pug, Penny, couldn’t quite make it down the stairs so our friend, Lisa, carried her. Penny pooped on the aisle while Lisa was holding her! It made everyone laugh and definitely helped to relieve some of the nerves.”The couple’s morning ceremony was followed by brunch and a day spent with family and friends. “It was so special because of the love and joy shared by everyone who had traveled to be a part of our wedding,” says Michaela.darshanphotography-1darshanphotography-2darshanphotography-3darshanphotography-1
