Zack & Shawn eloped in Victoria at Abigail’s Hotel this past Wednesday. Don’t imagine there are too many outdoor ceremonies held in Canada so late in the year—but with the sun streaming down into the protected front courtyard at Abigail’s, we were quite comfortable. The late fall light was a pleasure to shoot in but brrr, by the evening, it was cold!! Luckily the guys, looking awesome, were dressed for November in their tweeds and corduroys.
What fun to work with a truly good-humored and relaxed couple! After the short sweet ceremony we headed out on foot in search of the sea and hopefully the sunset. But, of course, along the route which took us rambling through Beacon Hill Park, we were distracted so many times by a great little patch of light here and a terrific framing device there, that when we finally crested the hill and descended to the seashore we had literally seconds to find our focus before the sun dropped like a rock behind the horizon. Then, after the guys had a celebratory cigar toke, we turned and marched back to Abigail’s in the falling darkness with the warm sense of having had a terrific time and knowing we likely had some great images waiting to be shared. Looks like November is the new greatest month for weddings! Book now, dates are going fast! ;)
