Renae and Tareq (Sooke French Beach Wedding Photographs)
Wowza! What a wedding these two threw! I admit, when Renae and Tareq first told me they were holding their mid-October wedding entirely outdoors at French Beach, I was skeptical. Really, the entire thing, outdoors? On the west coast where there is some of the most inclement weather on Vancouver Island? In October? Well, they had no doubts, and clearly, I shouldn't have either. Because Renae and Tareq's abundant love and gratitude for life, in conjunction with their aptitude for embracing inclement weather, made this one of our most enjoyed weddings ever. The day began hot and bright while Renae was getting ready, and the sun continued to shine while her and her Maid of Honor walked the mile or so along the beach to the Ceremony venue. During the ceremony things started getting a little wet—but life became truly soaking when the Bride and Groom decided to take a dip in the stormy sea as part of their ceremony............Many, many candles and twinkling lights lit up the reception area and created a lovely ambiance for some romantic portraits, and truly heart-touching speeches. Thank you Tareq and Renae for sharing your truth and exposing all of our hearts to a little more light in the world.(Emma Glover is the amazing Victoria Jeweler who made our Engagement and Wedding rings, so I recognized her enormous artistry as soon as I spotted Renae and Tareq's rings. You can see the rings photographed on a Passion Flower near the end of the post....)
